Breed: Belgian Trotter
Colour: Black
Gender: Mare
Height: 15.2hh
Date of Birth: 1998
Medical Conditions: Has had laminitis
Foster Donation: £100

Story: Storm found her way into the charity’s care after she was discovered running loose on the A13 in 2004. She managed to damage an attending police car whilst attempts were made to secure her. No owner came forward to claim her.

Personality: She is a strong individual, opinionated and likes things to be on her terms. She is top dog within the herd. She will let other horses know, in no uncertain terms, not to mess with her. She likes who she likes and that’s it.

Experience: In the past, Storm was a happy hacker but in recent years she hasn’t been ridden. She is good for the vet and farrier and generally good to handle once caught. Due to living out 24/7 in a big herd she is currently very difficult to catch but is a complete saint if in the routine of coming in daily. She recently had laminitis which ultimately led to her returning to the Sanctuary where it was also discovered she was suffering with a hoof abscess. She is now laminitis and abscess free and living very happily out in the herd. She is not the biggest fan of stabling but settles once she is in the routine.

Type of home: Storm is looking for a companion home in a small herd where she can either live out with daily interaction of come in overnight just to keep her in the routine of being handled. Someone who has a fondness for mares that know their own mind. She may be happy to be brought back into ridden work as a light hack.
