Breed: Cob
Colour: Piebald
Gender: Gelding
Height: 12.2hh (still growing)
Date of Birth: 1 September 2022
Medical Conditions: None known
Foster Donation: £170

Story: Disco arrived at the Essex Horse & Pony Protection Society on 24th February 2023, along with Dizzy. They had been living in a small concrete back garden in a London borough. Thankfully they had only been there for a few weeks, it was totally unsuitable accommodation for a pony and the local council had stepped in and forced the owner to rehome the pair.

Personality: This little chap is full of confidence and cheekiness but is also very friendly and loving. He is very bold and brave and loves a game of rough and tumble with his field companions. He is not a fan of dogs but is getting better with them.

Experience: Disco is good to handle in general. Good for his feet, with the vets, to be wormed and to catch and lead.

Type of home: Disco would love an experienced home where he can be a companion to another playful horse. Somewhere his fosterers will be content to spend the next few years working with him on the ground, instilling manners, building his trust and confidence and allowing him time to grow up physically and mentally. We prefer our horses and ponies to wait until they are 4/5 years old before they learn to carry a rider – they have so much growing to do in the first 4 years and we like to prevent complications later in life.

***If you would like to find out more or think you could give this confident chap the home he deserves then we ask that you complete a foster application form in the first instance. More information on fostering a pony from us can be found along with a downloadable copy of the foster application at the following link:
