Story: We were contacted by our friends at New Hope Animal Rescue in Kent, to enquire as to whether we had space for 2 ponies. One of these ponies was little Larry who had been rescued from going to the abattoir. The duo arrived at the Sanctuary at the beginning of June 2024.
Personality: Larry has a sweet and funny personality but is scared of his own shadow on occasions. He is generally good to handle, just nervous and requires patient, considerate handling.
Experience: We don’t know what previous experiences this little guy has had. He can be difficult to catch some days but then others he will come up to you looking for a treat. He needs time and patience when receiving his hoof trims, molasses licks tend to help him get through. He is quite scared of fly sprays and hoses but will relax with positive handling. He loves to play with his field companions and is good with the other animals on site too.
Type of home: Larry needs an experienced home to help build his confidence and show him that the world isn’t so scary really.
