ELA – COMPANION

Breed: Welsh Section C
Colour: Bay
Gender: Mare
Height: 13hh
Date of Birth: 8 April 2007
Medical Conditions: Laminitic in the past. Fused tendon sheath. Arthritis in fetlock.
Foster Donation: £100

Story: Ela was relinquished into the care of EHPPS when her owners health took a turn for the worst and they could no longer manage to provide her with the care she required.

Personality: She is a loving pony who enjoys nothing more than receiving a bug fuss and a groom. Quite a quiet mare, she tends to get on well with others in the herd but can be picked on by the more dominant herd members. Ela gets quite anxious in the stable and prefers to be out.

Experience: Ela was ridden in the past but is now available to a companion home only, she is now retired from ridden work due to her leg issues. She is easy to catch, lead and handle but can struggle getting into position when picking her hind legs up.

Type of home: Ela is looking for a companion home with a foster family who recognises the early signs of laminitis, ideally with another laminitic pony that has the same dietary restrictions. She hasn’t had it in her time living out at the sanctuary, but we are always vigilant when they have suffered with it previously.

***If you would like to find out more or think you could give this sweet lady the home she deserves then we ask that you complete a foster application form in the first instance.
