Story: Andy Pandy was born at the Sanctuary to Tasha. Two days after he was born, he was rushed to Paton & Lee vets along with his mother for an emergency plasma transfusion. He had been attempting to suckle but wasn’t doing it correctly and therefore didn’t receive the precious colostrum that only comes in a mother’s first milk. Earlier this year he went into Rossdales to have a retained testicle removed. He is now completely healed and enjoying his time out in a mixed herd.
Personality: Andy is very playful; he likes all horses and people. He would love a home with other playful horses. He has a very sweet personality and can be cheeky on occasion.
Experience: Andy is good to handle in all ways, but he is still young, and this may be tested on occasion. He loads and travels well. He is not overly keen on clippers, but we are sure he will learn to relax with them if required in the future.
Type of home: Andy Pandy is seeking a home where he can be a companion to another playful horse. Somewhere his fosterers will be content to spend the next few years working with him on the ground and allowing him time to grow up physically and mentally. We prefer our horses and ponies to wait until they are 4/5 years old before they learn to carry a rider – they have so much growing to do in the first 4 years and we like to prevent complications later in life. He will make someone a wonderful little ridden prospect.
