GLENN – COMPANION / RIDDEN PROSPECT

Breed: Cob
Colour: Piebald
Gender: Gelding
Height: 12.2hh (still growing)
Date of Birth: July 2022
Medical Conditions: None known
Foster Donation: £170

Story: Glenn arrived at EHPPS in July 2022 along with his mother, Lily, who was in a very poor state. His mother had a variety of medical issues that took her a long time to get over, there were many times her future looked doubtful. Glenn, on the other hand, has always been healthy.

Personality: He is very playful amongst the herd. He would love a home with other playful horses. He can be quite a timid and nervous pony and gets anxious if he is the only pony on the yard. He seeks confidence from his companions.

Experience: Glenn loads and travels without issue. He can be difficult to catch but is ok when in a regular routine or following others in from the field. Although generally good to handle once caught, he is very tense, requiring patient calm handling. He tolerates the farrier, and can be a little on edge around the vet and new people. He is not a fan of clippers.

Type of home: Glenn would love an experienced home where he can be a companion to another playful horse. Somewhere his fosterers will be content to spend the next few years working with him on the ground, building his trust and confidence and allowing him time to grow up physically and mentally. We prefer our horses and ponies to wait until they are 4/5 years old before they learn to carry a rider – they have so much growing to do in the first 4 years and we like to prevent complications later in life.

***If you would like to find out more or think you could give this sweet boy the home he deserves then we ask that you complete a foster application form in the first instance.
