Owning any animal is a privilege and a huge responsibility not to be undertaken lightly. Owning an animal is not a right. Far too many people take on a horse without properly looking into the full cost and commitment involved.
On average we receive around 25 calls per week from people asking us to take their horse or pony in for varying reasons. The majority by far concern owners who don’t have the time or knowledge to properly care for their horse.
EHPPS is a rescue centre for cruelty and neglect cases – sadly of which there are far too many. As much as we would love to be in a position to help all these other animals, we are simply unable to.
