PUBLIC OPEN DAYS

We once again open our gates to the public on the following dates throughout 2025.

Sunday 27th July – 10am – 4pm (This event will also host our annual dog show)

Sunday 31st August – 10am – 4pm

Sunday 28th September – 10am – 4pm

Sunday 26th October – 10am – 4pm

Sunday 14th December 12pm – 4pm

Come and visit our horses, goats, pigs, cats and chickens, pick up some snacks, refreshments and merchandise from our Visitor Centre and grab a bargain at ‘ALADDINS CAVE’, our onsite charity shop.

NO PRE-BOOKING REQUIRED

Entry is £2 each for adults, £1 each for children and free for members on production of a current valid EHPPS membership card.

Dogs are very welcome if kept on lead.

We will have some fantastic rugs up for grabs, as usual we are giving each size their own stable to make browsing and purchase easier.

We will also have our ever popular FREE pile, have a rummage and see what you find!!

WHAT IS IT?

EHPPS equine Agility is an in hand discipline is suitable for all equines including those who can’t be ridden whether they are young, unbroken, elderly or retired. The aim is to navigate your equine chum through a course of obstacles safely and calmly.

WHAT ARE THE OBSTACLES?

These will differ from date to date but will include challenges such as walking through a flappy curtain, walking over tarpaulin, going through a gateway and walking through an open trailer. The obstacle possibilities are endless.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?

Equine agility is great for improving your groundwork with your equine friend. It helps you develop a stronger relationship with your horse and fine tune your communication with each other.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THESE SESSIONS?

Each agility session will contain 8 obstacles and lasts for an hour.

Maximum 6 equines and handlers in a session.

The first 40 minutes will be spent getting your horses, ponies (or donkeys) used to the obstacles and what is expected. The EHPPS team will be on hand to assist.

The last 20 minutes will then involve a mini challenge in which each handler and their equine will complete the 8 obstacles whilst being timed/marked per obstacle. 1st-6th place rosettes will be handed out at the end of each session.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

An hour session will be £20 per horse / handler combination
