Story: JD was dropped to the sanctuary gates at 4 months old, having been dumped on someone to be their responsibility. He was nervous of people and was carrying a large worm burden. He cut his isolation period short by jumping the stable door to say hello to the neighbours, a habit he is yet to grow out of! We then paired him up with Aladdin who soon became Uncle Aladdin, to teach him the ropes of being a proper pony.

Personality: He is a super sweet chap who loves a fuss and checking your pockets for treats. He gets on well with his field companions and is very playful. Up until recently he has spent the past year and a half as a companion for a another horse. He is very loving and will groom him on demand. Overall just a generally loveable soul.

Experience: JD has been backed and ridden, experiencing clear rounds and hacking whilst he was undergoing his training. He is a sensitive soul when under saddle and can go for lengths of time without incident and then can have a set back leading to panic. If someone were to take him on as a potential ridden pony, they would need to be aware of this. His go to move when he feels out of his comfort zone is to rear. He will always need time and patience. He is good to handle in general. He takes a little while to load but with encouragement and the odd bribe or two he will eventually go on.

Type of home: JD is either looking for a home as a companion or for an experienced person to bring him slowly into ridden work. He has a big jump on him so fencing and stable doors need to be a decent height, he will threaten to jump (and succeed in jumping) a stable door if he is feeling anxious.
